Great trails don’t just happen. They need help. The Friends of Garland Mountain Trails (FGMT) is an alliance of individuals, organizations, community groups and business sponsors who voluntarily help the Cherokee Recreation and Parks Agency (CRPA) provide premier recreational trails and facilities at the Garland Mountain Horse & Hike Trails (GMHHT), a Cherokee County owned 950-acre greenspace park near Waleska, Georgia.
FGMT evolved from the former Garland Mountain Project Team, a committee within the Cherokee County Saddle Club responsible for the GMHHT facility design and ongoing trail development and maintenance. We are a not-for-profit, grassroots group dedicated to succeed in our mission through donations, volunteer spirit and desire to have extraordinary trails to ride and hike in our community.
